CHINA: A fire broke out at the Yongqing Temple in Zhangjiagang city, Jiangsu Province, on 12 November 2025, destroying the historic Wenchang Pavilion within the temple grounds.

According to a statement by the Fenghuang township government, the blaze started at 11.24 am in a traditional-style building on Fenghuang Mountain.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. 

Videos shared by witnesses online showed the multi-storey Wenchang Pavilion engulfed in flames from top to bottom.
