Man stabbed outside Yishun block in front of children, investigations ongoing

A 29-year-old man was stabbed outside Block 467B Yishun Avenue 6 on the evening of 13 June, reportedly in front of his two young children.
According to local media outlet Shin Min Daily News, the incident occurred at about 7.50pm. Despite his injuries, the victim managed to escort his children back to their home before seeking assistance.
One neighbour, who requested anonymity, said she rushed out upon hearing of the incident and found the man in bloodstained clothes. She used her hands to apply pressure to the wound in an attempt to stop the bleeding while others called for an ambulance.
The neighbour described the victim as breaking into a cold sweat and appearing to go into shock. She recalled that he repeatedly said only that he was in pain.
Photographs later shared showed blood-soaked towels on the ground, which were subsequently cleared by cleaners.
Stabbing linked to relationship dispute
The same neighbour told Shin Min Daily News that the incident was not a random attack. She believed the stabbing stemmed from a relationship dispute, dispelling speculation that residents in the area had initially expressed.
Another resident, aged 78, said he did not hear any commotion before the incident. He noted that his windows are always open and that he would likely have noticed if there had been an altercation.
A 72-year-old resident, identified only as Madam Chen, said her daughter-in-law saw a knife lodged in the man’s abdomen when she came across the scene.
Police response and witness accounts
Following the stabbing, police officers were seen conducting a thorough search of the area.
A 45-year-old resident surnamed Li said that when he returned home at about 8pm, he saw eight or nine officers working with evidence markers and flashlights. He recalled being advised by officers to use an alternative route to enter his block.
Another resident, Zhang, 40, who lives in nearby Block 478C, said he saw armed officers patrolling the area around 10pm.
Li further observed that officers remained at the site until midnight, after which the police cordon was lifted.
Police and emergency response
In response to media queries, the Singapore Police Force confirmed that they received a call for assistance at about 7.50pm on 13 June.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force stated that the man was conscious when he was conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
