Man charged with theft of potted plants worth S$1,514 in Yishun
A 42-year-old man has been charged with stealing potted plants and gardening items valued at S$1,514 from a block in Yishun.

A 42-year-old man was charged in court on 12 June 2025 for allegedly stealing multiple potted plants and gardening items from a residential block along Yishun Avenue 11.
The suspect, identified as Lee De Yuan, is accused of committing the thefts between 5 and 8 June during the early morning hours.
Stolen plants and items listed
According to charge sheets, Lee took 18 potted plants, three gold flowerpots, and two white racks.
The plants included two large lohansong bonsai worth S$388 each, two smaller lohansong bonsai valued at S$68 each, and two potted cactuses priced at S$58 each.
Other items listed were three fu gui plants (S$58 each), two camelia plants (S$38 each), one long song plant (S$38), four lucky bamboo plants (S$18 each), and two han bonsai plants (S$18 each).
The combined value of the stolen goods was assessed at S$1,514.
Arrest and recovery
Police said they were alerted to reports of thefts from the block earlier this month. After reviewing closed-circuit television and police camera footage, officers identified Lee as the suspect.
He was arrested on 10 June, and all stolen items were subsequently recovered.
Court proceedings
Lee appeared in court on 12 June and was formally charged with theft. His case has been adjourned and is scheduled to return to court on 19 June.
If convicted, he could face up to three years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both.
