A clip of an alleged government official being escorted through a traffic jam while an ambulance was left stuck in Indonesia has recently gone viral.

The video was shared by Indonesian content creator Dian Kusuma, who has lived in Japan since 2011 and runs the YouTube channel Neo Japan.

During his trip home, he filmed police clearing traffic for government officials with an escort.

Just seconds later, his camera captured an ambulance, siren blaring, stuck in the same jam with no motorists giving way.

He described the incident as “culture shock,” contrasting it with Japan, where drivers immediately pull aside at the sound of an ambulance siren.

“How can the ambulance be left stuck there?” he wrote.

The clip sparked heated reactions online.

Among the top comments, someone said, "the person in the escorted vehicle is also probably sick..." and continued with, "in the head."

Another comment noted that ambulances are usually escorted by ojol (motorcycle taxi riders in Indonesia).

Uploaded on 21 August 2025, the video has already drawn over 4.1 million views.
