One Dead, Two Hurt After Truck Collision Triggers Carbon Dioxide Tank Explosion in Russia
One person was killed and two others, including a child, were injured in the Arzamas district of Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region on August 23. The incident involved a collision between a truck and a tanker carrying liquefied carbon dioxide, which subsequently exploded on the M-12 highway. Law enforcement is currently investigating the circumstances of the fatal crash.

Russia – A collision between a truck and a tanker carrying liquefied carbon dioxide resulted in one fatality and two injuries, including a child, on 23 August in the Arzamas district. The incident, which occurred on the M-12 highway, led to an explosion of the carbon dioxide tank.
According to preliminary information released by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the region on 23 August, the collision took place at the 427 km mark of the M-12 highway. A truck driver reportedly collided with a truck carrier, leading to the subsequent explosion.
The driver of the gas carrier died from injuries sustained at the scene. Additionally, one adult and a child were injured and received necessary medical care. Law enforcement officers are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In a separate development on the same day, 23 August, another road incident occurred in Russia's Saratov region. A collision involving two cars in the Gagarin district, specifically on the R-228 highway near the fork in Bazarny Karabulak, resulted in one death and seven injuries.
