MALAYSIA: A blind mother crawled to the roadside to seek help after her daughter, believed to be in her thirties, died suddenly in a remote hut near Kampung Tambey, Samarahan.
The woman reportedly passed away about six days ago, leaving her mother alone in the hut.
The two had been heavily dependent on each other for survival, living in isolation and relying on government aid for daily necessities.
Their home was situated far from the main road, making access extremely difficult.
Mother Crawls Through Forest to Seek Help
With no one around to assist her, the mother remained beside her daughter’s body for several days.
As the body began to decompose, she gathered the strength to crawl through the dense forest.
Relying solely on her sense of touch, she crawled and felt her way through the jungle for nearly two days, eventually reaching the roadside near dawn at around 6 am on 5 Dec.
Passing motorists saw the mother and alerted the authorities.
Authorities Recover Body and Assist Mother
Police and members of the Civil Defence Force (APM) quickly reached the hut, finding the daughter’s body in an advanced state of decomposition.
Rescue personnel carried the remains out of the jungle and transported them to a hospital mortuary.
The elderly mother was also taken to the hospital for medical examination and treatment following her harrowing ordeal.
