Burger stall falls from tow truck at Perak junction, injures motorcyclist

MALAYSIA: A traffic incident in Kamunting, Perak, has drawn public attention after a food stall being transported on a flatbed tow truck dislodged and struck a stationary car and a motorcyclist at a road junction on 20 January 2026.

Police said the car driver was unharmed, while the motorcyclist sustained minor injuries involving the forehead, neck, hands and legs.

The rider, identified as a firefighter, was taken to Taiping Hospital for treatment.

The Taiping District Police confirmed the case is being investigated under Rule 92 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (LN 170/59), which governs the safe carriage of loads on vehicles.

Public Attention and Questions Raised

The incident was captured on video and widely shared online, prompting public scrutiny over the manner in which the stall was transported.

Some social media users also questioned whether the tow truck had entered a one-way street, raising the possibility of additional traffic violations.
