MALAYSIA — A viral video showing a garbage truck veering across multiple lanes before crashing into a concrete barrier at the Puchong South toll plaza has prompted a police search for the driver, believed to be an Indonesian national.

The incident occurred around 1.50 pm on Friday (10 Oct) along the Damansara–Puchong Expressway (LDP), as the truck was travelling from Putrajaya toward Bukit Puchong.

The footage, widely circulated on social media, shows the truck suddenly swerving from the far-left lane toward the middle of the toll plaza before colliding with the barrier. A nearby car narrowly avoided being hit.

According to The Star, Subang Jaya police chief Asst Comm Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the driver fled the scene immediately after the crash, leaving behind his assistant — a 42-year-old Bangladeshi man — who sustained head and facial injuries.

Police are now working to locate the driver to assist in investigations under Section 42(1) of Malaysia’s Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.

Authorities have urged witnesses or anyone with information about the driver’s whereabouts to come forward.
