MALAYSIA: According to Berita Harian, an Indonesian man was arrested after assaulting an elderly resident during a violent outburst at Pangsapuri Miharja Fasa 1 in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, on 27 October 2025.

Cheras District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Aidil Bolhassan said the authorities received a report about the incident at around 11.40 am, prompting a Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) team to be dispatched to the scene.

Elderly victim injured

Preliminary investigations revealed that the 25-year-old suspect, who did not possess identification documents, had gone to the home of a 78-year-old local man.

“The suspect was found to have forcefully banged on the victim’s door with a knife, causing the blade to break and fall into a nearby drain.

The victim suffered minor injuries to his right rib area,” Aidil said in a statement.

Witnesses report days of disturbance

Witnesses claimed that the suspect had been disturbing residents and causing a commotion in the area for the past three days.

Police arrested the suspect at 1.38 pm and seized the broken knife, measuring 34 centimetres.

He was later taken to Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM for treatment.

The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958, and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
