MALAYSIA: A mother in Malaysia has claimed that her 13-year-old daughter, a student at an educational institution under a religious agency, was bullied — leading to the teenager being admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU).

According to local media Kosmo!, the victim, identified as Nur Aisyah, had only recently enrolled at the institution when the alleged incidents began.

The mother said she received a call on 8 October from an ustazah (female religious teacher) who also serves as the dormitory warden.

The teacher informed her that Aisyah had complained of chest pain and had been taken to the Batu Muda Health Clinic for treatment.

As her condition worsened and her electrocardiogram (ECG) readings became unstable, Aisyah was referred to the ICU at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

“I understand that this incident is related to the bullying case involving my daughter, where the words ‘pergi mampus’ (Malay for ‘go and die’ or ‘go to hell’) were written on her hand in blue marker,” the mother said.

Girl Reportedly Blindfolded and Forced to Eat Food She Disliked

In a Threads post on 17 October, Aisyah’s mother detailed a series of bullying incidents that her daughter had allegedly endured since joining the school.

On 7 October, a group of students allegedly pulled Aisyah into a toilet, blindfolded her, and forced her to eat food she disliked, including spicy dishes.

Following the incident, she began vomiting and complained of chest pain before being hospitalised.

Earlier, on 5 October, a younger student reportedly stepped on Aisyah’s glasses until they broke after she reprimanded the pupil over an undisclosed matter.

A few weeks prior, on 20 September, Aisyah was allegedly pushed to the ground by a pair of twins, after which several other students joined in, cursing and scolding her because she was wearing glasses.

On the same day, she was reportedly pushed again in the dormitory until she fell, and her hand was stepped on.

Mother Disputes School’s Explanation

Aisyah’s mother claimed that the school attributed her daughter’s condition to a pre-existing heart problem, which she had since childhood.

However, the mother disputed this explanation, saying that Aisyah had not experienced serious health complications in years.

“The last time she was hospitalised for her heart condition was when she was four,” she said.

“If there were no triggering factors, it would be impossible for her to suddenly fall so ill. I’m certain something happened in the dormitory.”

She added that although her daughter had previously reported being bullied, the school merely moved her to another dormitory with younger students, but the harassment persisted.

Police Report Filed

Following hospital advice, the mother lodged a police report at the Sentul District Police Headquarters on 9 October to enable further investigation, including a specialist medical examination.

“Now I just want justice for my daughter,” she said. “So many things have happened in such a short time, but the school and dormitory seem to be pushing responsibility onto each other.”

She has since withdrawn her daughter from the institution.

Condition Monitored Ahead of Surgery

In an update on 22 October, the mother shared that Aisyah had been admitted to Hospital Serdang after experiencing headaches, chest pain, and difficulty breathing.

Her condition is being closely monitored in the ICU before she is transferred to the Cardiology Ward. She is scheduled to undergo surgery on 23 October.

The mother has urged the public to pray for her daughter’s recovery.
