Newborn baby boy found dead in garbage lorry in Bukit Jalil, Malaysia
A premature male infant with abdominal injuries and a fractured skull was found curled inside a garbage truck, prompting a police investigation.

MALAYSIA: Malaysian police are investigating a tragic case in Bukit Jalil, Cheras, after the body of a newborn baby boy was found inside the back compartment of a garbage lorry.
The discovery was made around 12.51pm on 11 December by an Alam Flora cleaning worker during routine waste collection.
The baby, believed to have been recently born, was found in a fetal position and submerged in garbage water. Police confirmed that the infant had abdominal injuries, a fractured skull, and a severed umbilical cord, raising concerns of possible foul play or abandonment immediately after birth.
Cheras Deputy Police Chief Superintendent Chua Kok Lian said in a statement that the remains were sent to a hospital for post-mortem examination.
Early findings suggest the baby was approximately 25 weeks’ gestation, indicating an extremely premature birth. Further analysis will determine whether the infant was alive at birth.
Police have already recorded statements from four witnesses, though their identities have not been disclosed due to the ongoing investigation.
Authorities are now working to trace how the baby ended up in the garbage truck and whether the mother is in need of medical or psychological assistance.
Superintendent Chua urged the public not to speculate and to provide any relevant information that might help identify those responsible. The case continues to be investigated, and officers are working to establish the timeline leading up to the infant’s death.
