MALAYSIA: A paramotor operator flying near a public running event in Malaysia crashed into an electric cable and fell into a paddy field, an incident that was captured on video and widely shared online.

An 18-second video recorded by attendees shows the paramotor approaching the race area before striking an electric cable and plunging into a nearby paddy field.

The footage captured moments of shock among the crowd, including race participants, before several people rushed forward to assist the operator.

Operator escapes serious injury

The man involved is understood to have escaped without serious injuries.

No casualties among participants or spectators were reported.

A Facebook user believed to be the operator, using the name Solo Ambush, later posted that he would go live to explain the incident.

The crash sparked heated discussion on social media, with users questioning the proximity of the paramotor flight to the event route and calling for stricter safety measures around public gatherings.

Some viewers initially questioned whether the viral clip had been generated using artificial intelligence, citing the unusual nature of the crash.

There are also many comments criticised bystanders for filming instead of helping.

However, in a subsequent TikTok post by the same individual who uploaded the viral video, footage showed people at the scene moving quickly to assist the paramotor operator after the crash.
