MALAYSIA: Two Singaporean men were arrested after being involved in a physical altercation inside Larkin Police Station, following an earlier dispute at a shopping mall in Johor Bahru.

Dispute Originated at Shopping Mall

Johor Bahru Selatan police chief ACP Raub Selamat said the initial confrontation took place at about 5.20 pm on 21 December on the first floor of a shopping mall.

The disagreement reportedly began after one of the suspect's wife was splashed with beer when one of the men nearly collided with her, escalating into a physical fight.

Police officers on patrol intervened and escorted both men, aged 56 and 46, to Larkin Police Station.

Second Scuffle at Police Station

At around 6.15 pm, while one of the men was lodging a police report at the station counter, the other allegedly approached and attacked him, resulting in another scuffle.

Officers on duty intervened to stop the altercation.

Both men sustained minor injuries and were taken to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for treatment before being placed under arrest.

Investigation and Charges

Police confirmed that both suspects tested negative for drugs.

They were remanded for two days starting 22 December.

The case is being investigated under Section 160 of the Penal Code for committing affray, and Section 90 of the Police Act 1967 for disorderly conduct at a police station.
