Man arrested after standing in middle of Yishun road, appearing to urge cars to hit him
A 53-year-old man was arrested after walking into the middle of Yishun Avenue 2 and appearing to urge oncoming vehicles to hit him. Police said the man was arrested under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act, and no injuries were reported.

SINGAPORE — Traffic came to a halt along Yishun Avenue 2 on Sunday afternoon (26 Oct) when a man suddenly stepped onto the road and began confronting approaching vehicles.
The incident, which occurred at around 4.12pm, was caught on dashcam footage later shared on the SG Road Vigilante (SGRV) Facebook page.
In the video, cars were seen heading in the direction of Khatib MRT station when the man, dressed entirely in black, appeared in the middle lane.
Gestures for cars to hit him
At one point, he signalled at a white car as though urging it to move towards him.
When the driver slowed down, he turned his attention to another vehicle recording the scene, walking across lanes and gesturing for it to hit him.
A pedestrian nearby shouted for the man to get off the road, but he waved the warning away before eventually returning to the roadside, allowing traffic to move again.
Arrested under Mental Health Act
Police told MS News they were alerted to the situation at about 4.20pm at 201 Yishun Avenue 2.
Officers arrested a 53-year-old man under Section 7 of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act 2008.
No injuries were reported.
