SINGAPORE: A Reddit user claiming to be a long-time visitor of Universal Studios Singapore posted on 18 November 2025 a lengthy account describing what was observed as a notable decline in the park’s standards.
The post alleged that the park has steadily weakened since the COVID-19 period while raising prices.
Comparisons with overseas theme parks and concerns over increased ticket prices
According to the user, Universal Studios Singapore now compares unfavourably with parks such as Universal Studios Japan and DisneySea.
The Redditor argued that these international parks offer stronger maintenance, better storytelling, smoother operations, and more consistent entertainment value.
The visitor highlighted that ticket prices have risen to S$83, while overall quality has reportedly diminished.
The post recalled earlier years when shows were vibrant, ride effects were reliable, and theming was maintained with greater attention to detail.
Ride effects removed or malfunctioning
Ride reliability became a major topic in the account.
The user stated that Lights, Camera, Action no longer uses its moving boat effect.
Battlestar Galactica was said to have lost its signature neon sign, and the coasters reportedly no longer launch as a duelling pair.
The signature fire feature in Revenge of the Mummy was described as disabled.

The Puss in Boots coaster reportedly runs without narration or music, leaving the ride disconnected from its intended storyline.
Shrek 4D was said to suffer from broken pre-show animatronics and overly rough seating movements, while water effects inside the theatre were no longer operational.
Environmental and facility concerns
Park facilities were represented as declining in quality.
Water coolers reportedly produced cloudy or oddly flavoured water, and low pressure led to long queues at toilets for refills.
Visitors also shared that USS closes earlier than in previous years, now shutting at around 7–8pm instead of 10:30pm, limiting evening enjoyment.

Visitors compared USS unfavourably with Universal Studios parks in Japan, Beijing, and Hollywood.
They pointed to fewer rides, weaker seasonal events, long queues, reduced express pass options, and higher food prices.
Parents also noted frustration after the sudden removal of booster seats from the Elmo ride.
This increased height requirements without prior notice, preventing some children from participating.
Genting Singapore has invested about S$6.8 billion into the development and expansion of Resorts World Sentosa, including Universal Studios Singapore.
