SINGAPORE: A 30-year-old Malaysian man was sentenced to four weeks’ imprisonment on Thursday (8 Jan 2026) for exposing himself to a 15-year-old boy in a public toilet.
Logeswaran Raja Kumaran pleaded guilty to one count of intentionally exposing himself for the purpose of sexual gratification.
The court heard that the victim, a 15-year-old student, was returning home from school by public transport at about 9pm on 14 November last year.
Dressed in his Boys’ Brigade uniform, the boy alighted at Senja Hawker Centre to use the toilet.
As he made his way towards the washrooms, the boy noticed Logeswaran standing between the men’s and women’s toilets.
The boy entered the men’s toilet and was followed inside by Logeswaran.
While the two were alone inside the washroom, Logeswaran exposed himself to the minor and engaged in a sex act in his presence.
Feeling uncomfortable, the boy moved into a cubicle to finish urinating.
After the incident, the boy took two photographs of Logeswaran. When Logeswaran questioned him about taking the photographs, the boy did not respond.
He subsequently left the washroom and lodged a police report, providing one of the photographs to the police before deleting both images.
Logeswaran was arrested later that same night and subsequently remanded.
The prosecution sought a four-week jail term, arguing that the accused had knowingly targeted a minor.
The prosecutor said Logeswaran would have been aware that the victim was a youth, given that he was wearing his Boys’ Brigade uniform, yet nevertheless proceeded to expose himself to him.
For intentionally exposing himself for sexual gratification, the offender could have been jailed for up to one year, fined, or both.
