Hong Kong worker injured after ceiling collapses in Sham Shui Po shop
A shop employee in Hong Kong’s Sham Shui Po district was hurt today after a large section of ceiling concrete suddenly fell inside an Indonesian food store.

HONG KONG: A falling-debris incident occurred this afternoon in Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong. At around 3:58pm today, police received a report that part of the concrete ceiling inside an Indonesian groceries shop at 76 Fuk Wa Street had suddenly peeled off and fallen.

Hong Kong Shop Employee Injured
The collapsing concrete struck a male staff member on the head, causing bleeding. Emergency responders arrived shortly after and found the man conscious. Paramedics treated his wounds at the scene before sending him to Caritas Medical Centre for further care.

Large Portion of Ceiling Damaged
A sizeable area of the ceiling had fallen, exposing the internal structure above. Pieces of broken concrete were gathered into plastic crates, and the injured worker could be seen in the ambulance with his head completely bandaged.

Police Investigating the Cause
Hong Kong police have launched an investigation into what caused the ceiling to give way. No other injuries were reported, and authorities are conducting follow-up inspections at the scene.
