The horrific discovery came after the victim’s family reported him missing on 12 October.
Twelve-year-old Mohamed Ahmed had failed to return home from school and could not be reached by phone.
The incident took place in Ismailia Governorate, where the suspect allegedly lured his classmate, identified as Mohamed A.M., to his family’s home.
There, he is said to have attacked the victim with a wooden stick, striking him repeatedly on the head until he died.
Body Dismembered and Scattered Across City
According to The Sun, the boy then used a power saw to cut the body into small pieces that could fit into his school bag.
Investigators later found the victim’s remains near a shopping centre, as well as under a bridge, in a pool, and in an open field.
Influenced by Violent Media
During questioning, the suspect, identified as Youssef A., reportedly told police that he was imitating violent scenes he had seen in films and video games.
He also admitted to eating part of the victim’s flesh, describing the experience as “similar to breaded chicken.”
Investigation and Autopsy
Authorities said the boy was made to reenact his actions during the investigation, leading police to the locations where he had disposed of the remains.
A post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of death and identified the tools used in the killing.
Community in Mourning
The victim was buried after funeral prayers at Al-Matafi Mosque, with thousands of residents attending the service in mourning.
Suspect Under Psychological Evaluation
The suspect was remanded for four days by the Public Prosecution and later transferred to a juvenile care facility while his case was reviewed.
He has since undergone psychological assessment, drug testing, and forensic comparison with samples from the victim.
