SOUTH KOREA: South Korean police said they arrested a man in his 50s on 20 January for allegedly killing his older brother and attacking his mother at their family home in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.

According to local reports, the incident occurred at around 11pm on 19 January.

Police said the suspect’s mother survived the attack and managed to escape from the house.

She later contacted authorities from a nearby convenience store, prompting officers to respond to the scene.

When police arrived, they found the suspect suffering from serious self-inflicted injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The suspect’s older brother was found at the scene and was pronounced dead.
