THAILAND: A Facebook user in Thailand who is among those stranded in the Hat Yai floods has used pieces of cloth to signal to authorities the number of people trapped and urgently needing rescue.
The man posted on 26 November 2025 at 10:38am, saying:
“I don’t know what more I can do… We are here, 30 more lives…”
He also shared his location via Google Maps, hoping rescuers would reach them in time.
Earlier Post Described Delays in Assistance
In a separate post earlier that morning at 7:54am, he described the ongoing struggle residents have faced while waiting for help.
Despite the water beginning to recede, no official rescue teams had arrived, leaving them to rely solely on one another.
Throughout the night, boats and jet skis passed through the area, but according to him, all they received were repeated reassurances such as:
“Someone will come soon.”
“We’ll send food soon.”
and many more empty “soon… soon…” promises.
28 People Sheltering Inside the Building
He shared that 19 people were initially inside the building, including three children.
The group also helped nine more neighbours whose single-storey homes were completely submerged, bringing the total number of people sheltering to 28.
By the morning of the fourth day, floodwaters had begun to lower.
The man expressed hope that if water levels continued to fall, they might finally be able to move or seek help more effectively — but emphasised that they remained trapped without external assistance.
